We are very excited to announce that our 2018 Annual Conference will be held at Duquesne University, in Pittsburgh PA. Duquesne’s uniquely long and distinguished tradition of qualitative, interpretive, meaning-centered and philosophically-grounded inquiry in psychology as a human science will provide a rich background for our conference. Pittsburgh is a thriving and vibrant city in the midst of rapid growth – much like our qualitative psychology community itself. The conference will be held on May 21st and 22nd, 2018.
Psychology Research Reading Groups Forming
Finding a research tribe can be difficult in a large University. As scholars interested in psychology, one of the most powerful ways to engage in scholarship is to create opportunities for collaboration in areas of mutual interest. Leading the way for research community membership increases awareness about our SIG while giving our interests a more formal place among the scholarship of the Research Hub. In the next few weeks, research reading groups will be established in the following areas:
-
Traumatic Stress: Disorders, Treatment, and Developing Science
-
Addiction and Substance Use: Current Issues and Critical Interventions
-
Brain and Behavior: Topics and Trends in Neuropsychology
- Coordinate literature selection with Dr. Ladd
- Reach out to students, faculty, and alumni interested in reading groups
- Coordinate meetings
- Report session results, findings, or actionable items
