Abstract:
Is there a technique or best practice to help reduce the stress associated with developing or maintaining a bona-fide research agenda? The authors presents a technique that aligns popular yoga poses to the challenges of contemplating, designing, and seeing a rigorous research study through fruition. The underlying pinning of a literature review draws connections to the benefits of purposefully creating a state of mindfulness and suggesting yoga poses as metaphors that represent various research process steps. The hallmarks of mindfulness, concentration, and contemplation are shared by one of the most popular forms of meditation the world over, the practice of yoga such as Ashtanga, Vinyesa, or simple sun (Surya Namaskara) salutations.
