Virtual, Vast, Varied, Valuable, Vital and Visionary! Knowledge Without Boundaries

Virtual, Vast, Varied, Valuable, Vital and Visionary! Knowledge Without Boundaries

Attending and presenting at the 2018 Knowledge Without Boundaries Virtual Academy was an exciting experience! Live audio and video through Shindig provided excellent opportunities to meet colleagues and learn about their vast research experiences. Seeing and hearing the presenters, as well as the audience, helped build collegiality among the members of our research community.

Incurring neither the cost nor the more precious commodity of time to travel to the conference made the Summit much more valuable for the effort expended. Being able to join the presentations and workshops online from home or office or even cell phone added the important ‘anywhere’ piece to the presentations.

I presented with research team members in several sessions, moderated others, and learned a tremendous amount of new knowledge from those sessions that I attended. I am looking forward to similar experiences in the 2019 KWB virtual academy, and I will invite my colleagues and students to attend this visionary experience. This is an opportunity equal to a regional or national conference—and can be viewed within the comfort of our homes or offices! I can’t wait to see what vital research is going on through the Hub and to share mine with faculty and students.
