Educational aspirations and college selectivity among Montgomery County Public Schools graduates

This study examined high school demographic, academic, behavioral, and perceptual factors that relate to college selectivity, a proxy of college instruction quality. The extent to which educational aspirations influence the rate of graduates earning a first bachelor’s degree in a very selective or selective college was the focus of the presentation.

The 2016 MSDE Data Summit is a collaboration between the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Mid-Atlantic.
