Career and Technical Education in COVID-19: A New Beginning?
Team: Irene Chen, Elizabeth Isele, Matt Knight, Ronald Leach, Norris Krueger, Jean Perlman, Louise Underdahl
Economic, political, social, academic, public health, and philosophical dimensions of COVID-19 have catalyzed career and technical education (CTE) innovation. Risks and uncertainties associated with COVID-19 are complemented by unprecedented educational opportunity, progress, and new beginnings. This multiple case study highlights novel approaches to accelerating CTE development, experiential learning, pedagogy, and entrepreneurship in the COVID-19 environment.
Reframing Start-Up Success: Action Learning and Beyond
Team: Wendy van Schalkwyk, Herman van Niekerk, Louise Underdahl
Reframing start-up success synthesizes real life start-up entrepreneurship outcomes with education curricula, integrating theory and practice in a safe learning and personal growth environment. Action Learning is the pedagogical foundation upon which to build and sustain academic/community/industry partnerships. This study contributes to existing literature and presents Action Learning as a system-based approach which incorporates all the elements of a learning ecosystem in a holistic manner for consideration by economic, social, political, and academic policymakers.
Congratulations teams!
