Strategic planning in times of extreme uncertainty

Planning during extreme uncertainty requires organizations to be fast, yet flexible. Those organizations that adapt well, and are agile, will survive to see another day.

Abstract:

What happened to the great planning processes of so many companies during the great recession of 2007 through 2009? Why didn’t they have better planning in place to help them identify the inherent problems in their business model? Why didn’t they have more agility to adjust to a recession that was expected, even if it was not with the severity with which it arrived?...

The planning process before (scenario planning) and during (survival planning) will help those companies and organizations that survive.
