Dissertation to Publication (D2P) Workshop Success - Spring Session

Dissertation to Publication workshop spring session was offered between Jan and March 2022. Doctoral alumni along with some of chairs participated in the workshop and worked on developing their manuscripts based on their doctoral dissertations. Six synchronous meetings were offered throughout the workshop. A total of 34 participants submitted their manuscripts to peer reviewed journals by the end of the workshop and received certificate of completion and LinkedIn digital badges. The results of the survey completed by the participants at the end of the workshop indicated that attending the workshop:

  • Improved the participants’ knowledge of journal manuscript development (84% strongly agreed, rated 5 and 4 % agreed rated 4, on Scale of 1-5) and
  • Contributed to the participants’ professional development (84% strongly agreed, rated 5 and 12 % agreed rated 4, on Scale of 1-5).

Some of the participants' reflections:

I did not know getting published was a process. I have been rejected by two journals I was attracted to from articles they published. The skill is in selecting the right journal and following their guidelines. Thank you for an exceptional workshop. The value of the guidance from the workshop made the publishing process manageable. Best Regards”       By Dr. Willie Newell, Participant at DTP Workshop spring session

“My experience on the Dissertation to Publication workshop presented by the University of Phoenix College of Doctoral Studies was rewarding. Beginning with Mansureh Kebritchi, the Workshop University Research Chair was a voice of clarity and ease. Dr. Kebritchi’s power point presentations were comprehensive from start to finish. And was useful after each session because the PPT were forwarded to all participants. All the workshop reviewers provided useful and valuable feedback during our open question and answer settings. They created a space where all concerns were addressed without intimidation. The forum increased my enthusiasm and eagerness to deliver the final product. I appreciated everyone’s willingness to support us in our journey to be publish. “  By Dr. Elvire Daniels., Participant at DTP Workshop spring session
