Dr. Kebritchi good morning,

Our discussion begins tomorrow and I'm CST but just wondering if that's a dial-in or here in this forum for attendance for the session?

Thank you and I will check back here during the morning hours,

Lynn Doran, EdD

Hello Dr. Doran,

Glad that you found the D2P Workshop session 1 dial in, available at the calendar of event.

Let me know if there is any other question.

Lynn Doran's picture Lynn Doran | September 4, 2019 4:23 pm MST

Dr.Kebritchi hello,

I am in the session now listening via dial in however, I could go into the guest link (?) next time to give others a chance to dial in. I will have to work that because I could nothear you. Also, are guests able to view a PPP for the sessions?

Thank you,

Lynn Doran (Rita Hartman, Reviewer)

Dr. Kebrichi and discussion group:

I am reviewing the article of my chosen journal and they have directives as to how to order sections for submittal. The D2P Workshop's Checklist is great and divides our work into sections. The D2P Syllabus has our work divided into completion for the sessions.

Will I be confusing my effort with following the Checklist and Syllabus which calls for us to submit to our reivewers: Title, abstract, Section 1 including introduction and lit review when the journal calls for a somewhat different order?

Just asking and appreciate your thoughts,

Lynn Doran

Hi Lynn,

Please follow your target journal format and structure. The target Journal guidelines override D2P checklist. However, all manuscripts have intro, method, and result sections. Please submit your manuscript section by section as requested by D2P syllabus. Use D2P checklist/recommendations as additional tips to enhance the quality of your manuscript.

Hope this clarifies,

Dr. Kebritchi and Forum discussion group, good afternoon,

Thank you for clarification.  Would you please suggest how I may get the author guidelines from my target journal; Discourse and Communication for Sustainable Education. I have just asked this question in our UoP library where I was able to submit a question. I did email Tomasz.Konior@sciendo.com. This did not go to the intended destination.

I am hopeful I will be able to access the author guidelines, meantime, I am reviewing target articles.

Much appreciated,

Lynn Doran, EdD

Dr. Kebritchi and Forum group,

I just attempted to access submission guidelines through our D2P materials and resources; found under Cabell's my journal and link to submission guidelines and I remain hopeful

Thank you Forum group for any suggestions,

Lynn Doran, EdD

Dr.Kebritchi and Forum group,

What I was able to access was Notes for Contributors. There are basic guidelines for authors. I will go with that. I noted the requirement for a signed copyright agreement with submission and copyright will be owned by the journal.

Hi Lynn,

I suggest communicating with your reviewer, Dr. Rita Hartman who should be able to help you addressing these issues.

Thank you

I have been working on my paper for a year now and my dissertation chair has been assisting/gost writing with me. I wanted to do this work shop to make sure I have everthing down right. I have already chosen the Journal of Rural Mental Health. I chose this journal based on my studies subject, animal-assisted therapy, and the resaults of my study indicated most community mental health leaders percieve using animals as a rual occupation. Also, my choice was based on psychology and what the different subjects and study designs are most accepted by the different psychological based journals. My study was a qualitative multiple case study.

Hi,

I need assistance accessing Cabell's Directory of Publishing Opportunities. I do not have access to the online library. A Google Search is not helpful, either. What other ways can you suggest accessing this valuable resource? Or, can you suggest alternative resources to find impact factors and acceptance rates?

Thanks!

Mansureh Kebritchi's picture Mansureh Kebritchi | September 11, 2019 10:59 am MST

Hello,

All alumni should be able to log into eCampus with their previous username/password to access library and Cabell's directory.

Alternatively, you may identify your journal via (open to public):  https://www.journalguide.com/

Hope this helps,

Will you posting the transcript or any other materials from the dial-in session? I am in Hawaii Standard Time and missed the meeting.

Hello,

Even though I am an alumni, with this new account name and pw, it seems I cannot log into the Univeristy's library and take advantage of any of the information there. For example, acceptance rates of journals as demonstrated in the meeting we just had. Any suggestions on finding this information in different places?

Mansureh Kebritchi's picture Mansureh Kebritchi | September 10, 2019 11:27 am MST

Hello Georgi,

You should login into eCampus/library by your eCampus username/passwords that are still valid for alumni even after gratulation.  The eCampus User name/Password is different from Research Hub Username/password.

Hope this clarifies,

Good afternoon!

I was wondering if anyone was getting responses from their reviewers when/if you send an email?  I've emailed my reviewer directly a couple times with questions, but have not gotten a response.  I received a response within InfoReady regarding the choice of journals; however, I have sent additional questions regarding Section I and have not gotten an email back.

Anyone else experiencing this as well?

Lynn Doran's picture Lynn Doran | September 16, 2019 3:23 pm MST

Sure I have gotten many emails from my reviewer and am going through my yahoo email not my UoP email.  Try resending and see if it goes through or has gone to spam(?) for some reason.

Lynn Doran, EdD

Mansureh Kebritchi's picture Mansureh Kebritchi | September 19, 2019 12:37 pm MST

Hello,

I believe your reviewer communicated with you.  Let me know if you have any other issues.

atasillo1971's picture atasillo1971 | September 24, 2019 8:01 pm MST

Good evening, Dr. Kebritchi.  Yes, my reviewer did send an email which I replied to the following day.  I have not gotten another response since that email.  I sent another follow up email tonight and have copied you on it as well.  I can only assume that my emails, even the ones in which I reply to my reviewer's email, are not getting though or are falling into SPAM.  I will submit Section 1 through InfoReady and continue working as I have been the last couple weeks.

Lynn Doran's picture Lynn Doran | September 16, 2019 3:32 pm MST

Checking into the Discussion Forum. I am working on section 2. My target journal has set manuscript specification such as 5000 word limit and a checklist for submission--spelled out very well. I also noted above where  Dr. Kebritchi said (Sept. 10) all journal articles should have an intro, methods, and results. I have to set into place these content areas among the 5000 words. I think I can do that but will restate some things and maybe rethink including some things. I also have the reference section in place adding references I use right away. Does this sound like what everyone else is doing--or close??

Sound likes you are on the right track. Keep up the great work!

Katherine Sheffield's picture Katherine Sheffield | September 22, 2019 12:33 am MST

Dr. Kebritchi,

I was wondering if you can post the link to the previously held session?

Also, I was wondering if you can give insight on how to match the formatting for the selected journal? The journal I selected does not give specifics on how to properly format the pages to match the article they have already published.

One last question, how do I submit for task 2 which is part one of the paper? In InfoReady I did not see the tasks area to submit.

Thanks in advance.
