Brian Sloboda, Ph.D.

Associate Research Chair

Dr. Brian W. Sloboda holds a M.S. and a PhD in economics from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. His research interest covers the areas of regional and transportation economics, labor economics, entrepreneurship issues, and best practices in economic education. He earned the ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL STATISTICIAN™ as designated by the American Statistical Association (ASA). His work has been published, in peer reviewed journals such as the Review of Regional Studies, Journal of Applied Business and Economics, Annals of Regional Science, the European Scientific Journal, among others. He is also on editorial boards of journals that include the European Scientific Journal, International Journal of Engineering Research and General Science, and the Journal of Economics. He has also served as an editor for two monographs, Econometric and Forecasting Models edited by Chandrasekhar Putcha, Brian Sloboda, and Kalamogo Coulibaly, Edwin Mellon Press, (May 2013) and Transportation Statistics, Brian W. Sloboda (editor), J. Ross Publishing, (June 2009).

He is currently an economist at the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C
