Aims of the special Issue
The Journal of Workplace Learning is an international forum for peer-reviewed papers on learning in workplace settings. In recent years, a growing number of educational researchers have advanced conceptions about and practices of learning from errors in workplace settings which has led to significant development within this field of study. To capture and discuss some of these developments, the proposed special issue aims to:
1. describe the current state of theoretical and methodological development of research on learning from errors in workplace settings,
2. distinguish the area of workplaces as specific environments for learning from errors,
3. understand how and under which circumstances learning from errors in workplace settings takes place,
4. advance means by which workplaces can be become more effective in supporting learning from errors.
Processes for submissions
Authors are invited to submit an abstract for a paper contribution of length of 1.000 words describing the focus of the paper, its theoretical background, methodological orientation and procedures and likely conclusions. Deadline for the submission of these abstracts is May, 31st 2016, which will be forwarded to the organizers of this special issue. The organizers will audit the submissions and invite selected authors for the submission of their full paper (of a length of 6.500 to 8.000 words) before the end of November 2016. All papers will be subject of a double blind review process comprising three reviewers which will be organized by the journal’s editors. The publication of the special issue is planned for 2017.
