Employee engagement requires more than corporate culture

There is no single culture that works for all organizations – for example Apple focuses on perfection while and Facebook embraces failure. The one constant is to provide incentives that motivate and strategies that connect the employee to the corporate mission. (Although companies evolve but what motivates employees does not). Companies need to provide employees with both financial and non-financial incentive. Two examples are Salesforce who – provides recognition of achievements and commissions which accelerate (to encourage employees to close deals) and SpaceX who links employees the company’s mission by letting all employees witness the construction of rockets.
