Scholarship Opportunity: Advances in Technology: Contemporary Workplace Issues

Pam Gordon, Ph.D. (Sr. Fellow in the Global Business and Technology Research Center)  and Julie Overbey, Ph.D. (Workplace Diversity & Inclusion Research Center)  are accepting chapter proposals for an edited book tentatively titled Advances in Technology: Contemporary Workplace Issues.  The proposed book, to be published by Emerald Publishing Group, will provide a comprehensive look at emerging technological trends in the workplace. Authors should address contemporary technology challenges and innovative emerging technology in the business, education, or healthcare workplace via research study results, case studies, literature reviews, and concept papers.

The proposed book includes 12 -15 chapters that may address, but is not limited to the following chapter topics:

1. Technology and Managing People

2. Technological Work Environments (from business, educational, and/or healthcare work environment perspectives)

3. Technology and Virtual Teams

4. Social Media and HRM

5. Technology and HRD

6. Wearable and Workplace Sensors

7. Emerging Technologies in the Workplace

8. Issues in Artificial Intelligence

9. Technology and Ethics

10. Best Practices in Workplace Technology

To be considered for this opportunity, authors should send a brief abstract or outline of their proposed chapter offering (along with any questions) to Drs. Gordon and Overbey at: by March, 17 2018. 

Final completed chapters are due in the fall of 2018 with publication planned for early 2019.
