Dr. Subas Nandy Named Research Fellow

Dr. Nandy’s primary area of research is in the financial performance of global companies. One of his research was on the evaluation of the financial performance of foreign companies in the form of their American Depository Repositories (ADRs) as listed in U.S. markets.  Two conference papers and a journal article has been published on this topic in 2017 and 2018, a research endeavor supported by SAS OSS general research grant.  One more article is currently under review in a journal.  All these four research outputs are in collaboration and co-authored with Dr. Sussan (SAS University Research Chair).  In extending this theme, Dr. Nandy plans to begin a new research on the topic of: “Do significant political events influence the financial performance of global ADRs”.  Published literature shows that significant political events may influence financial performance of equities in certain countries.  However, no work exists on the influence of significant political events on the financial performances of ADRs. This work is currently under review of an OSS general research grant, also in collaboration with Dr. Sussan.

As Dr. Nandy interacts more with the Center for Global Business and Information Technology Research, he has cultivated a new interest is researching on the development of entrepreneurial ecosystems (EE) in Hong Kong and in the emerging market of India.  Dr. Nandy has presented a paper with Dr. Sussan on “An Emic and an Etic Approach to Understand the Evolution of EE in the Greater China Region” at the annual conference of Southern Regional Science Association in Philadelphia.  At present he is working with Dr. Sussan to extend this paper for journal publication.
