CEITR Research Fellows Dr. Barbara Fedock and Dr. David Proudfoot Present at XII International GUIDE Conference

CEITR Research Fellows Dr. Barbara Fedock and Dr. David Proudfoot Present at XII International GUIDE Conference

Two Senior CEITR Research Fellows Dr. Barbara Fedock and Dr. David Proudfoot attended the XII International Global Universities in Distance Education (GUIDE) Conference, February 15-17, 2017 Orlando, Florida and offered interesting presentations by discussing their research findings to topics in higher education. The presentations created an opportunity for large audiences to understand findings that contributed to the current situation of e-learning and distance education and the new trends in digital technologies use and applications. Dr. Fedock’s research titled, "Online Adjunct Higher Education Teachers' Perceptions of Using Social Media Sites as Instructional Approaches" informed the audience about how online education instructors perceive using social media as teaching approaches. This research drew numerous attentions from the audience because few studies exist that synthesize and integrate the results of empirical studies in order to provide an integrative report on existing challenges of online higher education adjunct instructors and the use of technology. Dr. David Proudfoot’s presentation titled, “Using Video Conferencing to Enhance Satisfaction in Online Courses” was designed to share the impact of video conferencing on student’s satisfaction and attitudes in higher education online courses. This topic was of particular interest to the audience because many higher education institutions are focused on improving the interactions of students and instructors in online courses by creating real-time synchronous interactions. Dr. Proudfoot invites you to contact him to learn more about his presentation if you are interested in using online tools that have the potential to increase student satisfaction in online courses by  improving social interactivity.

The details of the presentations are provided below.
