Making a Difference by Alumnus Pamela Kelly

Making a Difference by Alumnus Pamela Kelly

By Dr. Pamela R. Kelly , DHA, MBA/HCM, 2014 Research Fellow

The terminal degree journey was intense. When I was finally done it felt real good. I could exhale “Whew.” Soon I was asking myself “What now?; What next?; How do I uphold the commitment to scholarship, practice and leadership; Where or How do I get started?”

Thankfully the University of Phoenix anticipated the questions and needs of those individuals like me and invested in a resourceful environment of experienced and mentorship. The UOP research centers foster professional relationships and collaboration for a continued “fountainhead” of scholarship.

2 peer –review publications and a  conference presentation later – less than a year after  I attended the UOP Research/Publication workshop event where I was introduced to Dr. Ravi Chinta (University Research Chair – School of Advance Studies – Center for Management and Entrepreneurship), I am more than on my way to answering the “What next?” many times over.

There were some disappointments and rejections on the road to publication, but the exuberating feeling after receiving word of my first accepted publication is indescribable. Definitely, well worth the efforts expended.

Be encouraged. If I can do it, you can too! I urge you to take advantage of the university of Phoenix post doctorate resources to assist you in answering your “What now?”
