Auto Coding by Example
Analyzing large volumes of text? Pattern based auto coding is a feature designed to speed up the coding process for large volumes of textual data. It allows you to do approximate “broad-brush” coding of large volumes of text quickly which you can then review and refine.
For example if you have 100 interviews you may manually code the first 10 then have NVivo auto code the remaining interviews based on the patterns found in your initial coding.
So, if you have a large volume of structured text like interview transcripts or survey responses, you can now auto code based on existing coding patterns within a project. It can save time and give you rapid access to how themes occur across your data.
This session will cover:
- what auto coding by example is
- how it works
- how much coding to create
- where this feature works well
